Unique supplies needed for virtual camps will be mailed to campers homes. In addition to the 1 hour per day on screen (2 hours if you sign up for both the morning and afternoon session) with your Mad Scientist, there will be additional activities for children off screen. Each day will have a theme. If you register for a morning and afternoon session, the activities will be different and follow the daily theme. Use your skills to build your very own working robot to take home to live with you. The Red Hot Robot camp fee includes an additional cost for the robot that you will build and keep. There may be several hours of build time off screen depending on the age and ability of your child.
Monday 6/29: Ready for Robots:Morning Session: Enter the world of robots as you investigate the differences between humans and their robotic counterparts. Learn the science behind how robots move and change direction as you experiment with interconnecting gears.
Tuesday 6/30 Circuit Science:Morning Session: Get charged up as you enter the world of circuits! Discover how electrons travel as you learn the difference between series and parallel circuits.
Wednesday 7/1 Common Sensors:Morning Session: Challenge yourself to a game of sensory overload to see how your human sensors compare to robotic sensors. Play the Reggie Robot game to experience what it is like to program a robot without visual sensors.
Thursday 7/2 Robots 101:Morning Session: Roll your way into robot science. Experiment with different robot designs, as you learn about the applications of robotic technology.
Friday 7/3 Advanced Robotics:Morning Session: Welcome to the world of robotics! Learn to program robots via a sequence of commands. Discover if you have the end effector skills to complete a game of quick sticks!
