Summer School will be held in-person from June 2 - June 26; Monday through Thursday from 9:00-2:00. School is closed Thursday, June 19.
Summer School is designed for students who did not demonstrate proficiency, based on an overall average of 70 on a scale of 100 in Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, or Social Studies. Students who scored below 50 are eligible for summer school, but need to discuss with their counselor if this is the best option. A strong foundation in Algebra I is paramount to the student’s overall success in the next level course. DSHS highly encourages students that failed Algebra to retake it during the next school year.
Coursework: Edgenuity will be used as the online blended learning platform/curriculum.
Attendance: Attendance and adequate progress through the Edgenuity modules are required for all students attending summer school. Students will be allowed two unexcused absences. After two unexcused absences, the student will be dropped from the summer school. There are no refunds if your student dropped due to attendance.
Credits: Summer school courses are offered by semester each earning 0.5 credit. Students are able to enroll in up to four semesters but must complete one semester at a time. The fee for summer school is $150 regardless of the number of semester credits the student registers for. There are no refunds if your student does not complete coursework during the length of summer school.
If your student qualifies for free/reduced lunch, please contact your counselor to register. Do not register here.
